All three of the WD external drives and my camcorder's DV output jack are daisy chained to my computer via the FireWire 800 interface. Installing this drive couldn't have been easier. Plugged in the power, attached the provided IEEE cables to my other externals, and my iMac immediately recognized the drive. Works great and am very pleased with its size and virtually noiseless operation.
